Rustic Snowflake

So, we're a little more than half way through the week....YAY!  I really look forward to my Fridays:)

Tonight I was watching the  news and they had a little clip about how Christmas seems to be coming earlier and earlier every year, as far as the decorating and things go.  They went out and about our city and asked locals if they thought it was too early to be celebrating the holidays and when they end up decorating.  I was surprised, and maybe it was just the people who they interviewed, but most of them said they like how the early you can start to decorate for the holidays.  One person even said that they thought it was early and all, but they just can't help saying no to the holiday spirit!   Now, I have to say that I have been anxiously waiting to put up my Christmas tree because I usually like to put it up early. I thought the weekend before Thanksgiving was early, but the way others made it seem on the news that it wasn't at all!  Who know?  I do know that, I want to start decorating and that I've been in the Christmas spirit for little over a couple weeks:):)  Bring it on, all of it, even the mistletoe!!

Since I used sticks on my "Joy" sign,  I thought these little gems  would fit my "Joy" sign that I made earlier on in the week:)  So, I went out in my backyard and collected some of my branches.  Grabbed some other supplies that I wanted and went to town on my making my snowflakes!  I didn't want to make all of my snowflakes the same because you know that they say every single snowflake is completely different.
What do you think of these little treasures?

Perfectly Imperfect:)
Now, I really like how they turned out and all!  Each one of the snowflakes is a little bit different size and I think I like it better like that!  A couple great things about these snowflakes are that: they were cheap and easy.

I bought a little pick of fake pine needles and cones, and snow spray paint.  I had my buttons, twine, and the sticks.  I paid a total of $2.00 for everything and I still can make 4 more ornaments, quite the dealo, huh?

This is what you need to make these:
Sticks
Pine needle and cone pick
Buttons
Twine
Spray Snow
Glue gun
Cardboard

I didn't end up using the berries/fuzzy balls...

I just love this picture of all the buttons!!!
Step 1: Cut up 4 longer sticks and 4 shorter sticks.

Step 2: Cut a circular cardboard out to glue the sticks to
Step 3:  First, glue the bigger sticks to the cardboard so it makes a "+" sign and then glue your smaller ones in between those.
Step 4: Cut up smaller sticks for the ends of the snowflakes.  TIP:  Make sure you slant the smaller ones.
Step 5: Glue the smaller sticks to the ends of the sticks.
Step 6:  Glue the pine needles, buttons, and twine to the sticks.

Aaaaannnndddd  you are FINISHED!!!  It's quick, easy, and pretty painless:)

These were some of the things that I was thinking of using these for:
Gift wrapping
Garland
Ornaments
Wall Decor

I was in the mood to make these because I'm ready for some SnOw:):):)

I am definitely going to try making a garland out of this and adding some more embellishments to it as a garland!  I may just have the perfect place to put it when I get my Christmas decorating on!!!!

Have you been working on anything festive lately for the holidays?

Tonight for the 24 Days of Giving, I am thankful for my wonderful newer camera that I have!!!  One of my passions is taking pictures.   I just got my camera this summer and I love it because with one click, I can capture a moment, or memory forever!!  I will always have a piece of that memory with me:)  YAY for cameras!!!!!
