The Honest Truth

Hey everyone!  Happy Tuesday:):)  It's crazy that we're almost to the end of July already:(  That means my break is almost over with and it also means I will be going back to school soon!  Summers in the past, seemed to have been not quite as productive for me, but this summer I have kept myself busy with all sorts of things.  All of those things mainly revolved around exercise and eating healthier!

Today, I hopped on the scale couldn't believe what I saw...I was/am the same weight that I was at my wedding just a little over a year today!  Since I started talking about my weight loss journey on my blog, I haven't mentioned the amount of weight that I am or was.  I have been dreading this post for a while and that's because I was so embarrassed and haven't really told anyone except for my hubby, which that even was hard for me to do.  I figured if I told him that it would hold me more accountable to get to my goal and continue making good choices!  So, today, I'm going to share with you my starting point and where I am now...I'm a little scared and a little embarrassed of what I'm going to tell you, but I guess it's only part of my journey.  I won't be at the weight, I am at now for long, so I guess that makes me feel a little better:)

When I started this weight loss chapter at the end of May, I was 197 lbs!!!  When I officially started my weight loss journey in June I was 194!  I have NEVER, EVER seen these numbers on the scale and I sure as hell didn't want to get to 200 lbs, especially on a 5'4 frame.  I decided right then and there, with the help of a friend, that I needed to get this under control:-/  I saw this quote on Pinterest and thought this was so fitting for me to also make this pledge!
My Pledge!
Is there anyone else out there who is planning on making this same pledge as I am today?

I've started documenting and writing about my weight loss journey to keep me accountable and to show others that if I can get started then so can you!  I have received LOTs of support from my followers, I wanted to let them know that I very much appreciate it, and it has helped me out along this journey:)  I pledge to myself that I will never, ever see 197 lbs on the scale again!!!!!  I want to make a lifestyle change that will help me make better choices throughout the rest of my life!  There is no turning back only moving forward:)

This morning when I hopped on the scale, I couldn't believe what I saw!  I weighed 178 lbs:):)  That means I lost a total of 16 lbs since I started in June and a total of 19 lbs since the end of May!!!!  I had to double check the scale because I haven't been in the 170's for a LONG time!!!  I still have close to another 40 more lbs to loose, so there is definitely room for improvement!

I've been taking pictures along the way, throughout my weight loss.  I wish I would have started when I was at 197 because I'm sure you'd be able to see quite the difference.  My first picture I took was when I was at 188 lbs.  I told myself then that I would post some before and after pictures on my blog once I loose 10 lbs from 188lbs.  So here they are.....
Before and After

Side View
The change isn't drastic, but I can tell a little bit of difference in my stomach since the shirt is so tight.  What you can't see in the photos is my definition in legs, compared to before.  My calves are more toned and so are my thighs!  I'm pretty proud of that:)

I'm planning on continuing to post and keep you guys updated on my weight loss photos of before and afters.  Every ten lbs I lose, then I will be posting the comparison photos!

There have been soo many inspirational blogs out there that have inspired me to loose weight or blogs that I have turned to that have great tips or recipes for a healthier recipes.  I thought I would share those with you because they have truly been helping me along the way!

Mama Laughlin- She has an amazing blog that documented her weight loss after each one of her children.  Plus, she is quite hilarious and has some amazing tips for losing weight:)  If you need some inspiration then head on over to her blog because it rocks!

Fit, Crafty, Stylish, and Happy - Cassidy's blogs' name says it all!  She has posts of just about anything, but she does post some kick butt workouts and recipes on her blog!  I definitely check out her blog all of the time:)

Eat Yourself Skinny - This is another blog where the  name says it all!  She has a long list of healthier alternatives to onion rings, Oreo cheesecakes, or enchiladas.

Can You Stay for Dinner - This blogger is real and tells it how it is.  She was overweight much of her life until shortly after college and she has made a huge lifestyle change to get to where she is now, 135 lighter!  She is another HUGE inspiration to me and I'm sure to lots of others:)

If you are in the same chapter in your life as I am then these blogs will definitely be food for your soul and give you that extra push to keep on making those healthier choices!  I hope you all enjoy your Tuesday!

Thanks for stopping by:):)

Until next time!!!!!

  4. That is AWESOME and you look really great! I hope you are super proud of yourself because most people never put the petal to the metal and get as far as you have already. I'm trying to slowly get back into shape after baby (and probably more honestly after 5 years of a happy marriage where I let myself get too fat). You are giving me such a needed boost!

    1. Thanks Kim:) I'm trying to keep on keeping on and I'm not going to stop until I reach my goal! I haven't had a baby yet, but I've been married for 1 year now and been with the hubby for 7, that's why I have put on the weight. I've just been pretty comfortable with my life and I didn't get back on the wagon for FOREVER!!!! Now, it's my time and I know that you can do the same:) If I can then seriously anyone can!
