Day 10: No Excuses!!

No excuses is a difficult one to get over!  I know I had a hard time with this because "I was too busy" or "I will just go out to eat this last time" or "well, I already had a cookie what's 3 pieces of pizza?!?" or " I will just plan on exercising tomorrow" and tomorrow never comes!

You have the choice to stop the excuses and start with focusing on getting in a great workout! The excuses have to stop!  There is no excuse for not being able to exercise and eat healthy.  You have to make it a priority and put yourself first because in order for you to be happy with yourself is to be confident and feel good about yourself!  You are so worth putting yourself first and don't EVER second guess that!!  You deserve it:)

How many of you have ever felt bad the next day after you decided not to get a workout in? Then you beat yourself up and decide to eat your sorrows away because of your choices the day before!  That can stop, if the excuses stop...believe me...I was in the same position and it's a vicious cycle that's hard to stop!  But YOU can do it!  Believe in yourself, nothing is impossible and everything is possible!

You make the choice!  It's all in your hands to change the cycle.

~Sparkly Nude Manicure~

Hey All!! I hope you are enjoying your day:) I wanted to share with you all my latest manicure that I did and I have to say that it lasted for almost 5 days without chipping; for me that is unheard of!!  It was really pretty simple and didn't take a lot of time or wasn't too difficult either:)

All I did was take this Sally Hansen nail polish and painted that on my nails first then I took a glitter stick and applied it to the tips of my nails and voila! Almost forgot apply a top coat to protect your beatuimus nail design:)

You could try this with all sorts of different colors, so go ahead and have some fun with it!  I sure did:)

Thanks for stopping by:):):)

Until next time!!!!!

Day 9: Colored Out!!!

Before The Color Run
Happy Monday Everyone:):):)  How was your weekend?  I had such an awesome weekend because we ran in The Color Run!!!  I have to say that I was a little skeptical that it would be the happiest 5K in the world, but I completely agree with that:)  It's so much fun you don't even realize how much effort you're putting into running!  If you are debating about whether or not to go, you should definitely book your spot in the race asap!
Wore my shades!

First of all, you get splashed with all different kinds of colors, you get to see many different crazy outfits, AND you get to rock out when you get to the finish line:)  At the end of the race there is a DJ that plays some kick butt music that makes you want to just dance.  Once the countdown for the color throw is announced, there is soo much energy.  When the dust is thrown into the air and the music is blaring, you start dancing like no one is watching, and you get the feeling of being a little kid again!  Something about this race is truly magical and you will never have more fun at a 5 K!  I have to tell you a little secret and that is I was skipping, fist pumping, and leaping everywhere after the race:)

Day 7: Never Say No to Free!!!

This is Day 7 of 31 Days to a Happier and Healthier You!  Yes, you read the title right, free!!!!  Sorry, I'm not giving anything away at this time, but I did want to mention that you want to keep in mind that as you are trying to lose weight,  to always give yourself a "free day or meal"!!!

That's what I'm saying!!
No, I'm not saying everyday, but once a week or once every two weeks.  I'm not saying to do this...
Piggin' Out
Or to eat ALL of this....
Yikes!
Have a "free day or meal", of course within moderation this way you will still be able to enjoy food that you may not eat on a normal day.  No matter what, I don't know about you, but I will get cravings for food that I absolutely can't live without.  Instead of continuing to deprive myself of these things and then binge eat, I just let myself have some not so healthy food for my "free meal" of the week!  It's alright if you get a little too excited....

The main reason why I believe that this is a good idea is because you should really be thinking how do you want to live the rest of your life?  If you want to eat clean all of the time then more power to you and I truly admire those people that can do that:)  When I answer that question, I know that I won't be able to eat clean my whole life, so I try to eat as close to what I would eat if I wasn't cutting the calories as much as I am now.

When you answer that question, what is your answer?

Just remember this should be a lifestyle change and not just looked at like a "diet".  If you look at it like a "diet" then you have a higher chance of going back to your old eating habits.  Instead if you look at it like a lifestyle change, it really changes the way you go about your weight loss and continuing to maintain your weight after you lose your all of your weight.

What do you do to help keep your cravings under wraps?  Do you allow yourself a free day?

PS:  Wish me luck today because today is The Color Run!!!  I'm seriously stoked about this:):)  This will be the first official 5K I have ran in a little over 6 years!!!!!!!

Thanks for stopping by:):)

Until next time!!!!!

Day 6 of To a Happier and Healthier You: Confidence is Key!

Isn't this the truth?
Lately, I have been doing some serious thinking about what changed in me for me to lose so much weight and to start looking at things in my life in positive light.  It got me to thinking that one of the key things to weight loss, for me anyways, is to try to see things positively and to have confidence in yourself!  I know this is going to be a long post, so I apologize, but this is something that I'm pretty passionate about...sorry in advance!

Before I started this weight loss journey, I had a convo with one of my close friends and I told her that I am a yo-yo dieter and I think the reason I do this is because once I get at my goal weight then I'm not happy with it or how I look.  We debated about this topic for a while, she also has done the same, as far as yo-yo dieting goes.  I kept on telling her that no matter what I wasn't happy and she told me that she will be once she gets to her goal weight.

Fast forward 4 months later, she has now lost her weight and I've noticed the only things that she says about herself are negative comments about her body and how she looks in pictures, how she wishes she could change this and that.  This is exactly what I was talking about before and how it's such a vicious cycle.  So, I'm going to pose this question:  How can we ever be happy with ourselves? Is it possible to be completely, truly, and 100% happy with yourself? Or will you always find flaws?

The quote above is so fitting for anyone who is going through their own weight loss journey because it's not only what your doing as far as diet and exercise go, but also how you see the world.  Once I started this weight loss journey, I tried to start to look at the positive things in my life such as: what great family, and friends that I have in my life:)  I tried to focus on the qualities that I like about myself, and try not to think about myself in a negative way!  I want to have positivity surround me and the only way to do it is to embrace it yourself!!!

Fashion Friday

Happy Friday everyone:):):)  TGIF is all I have to say!!!  On my birthday last week, this is the outfit I wore out to dinner.  My favorite part is the sparkly pink top, it just screams out fun!  It has been a LONG time since I could say this, but I do look pretty damn good in this outfit and it actually makes me feel sexy!  Three months ago, I would have never thought I would be saying that again.
Birthday Date Night Outfit!
See the lilac bush in the back of the yard....I usually take my pic back there since not too many peeps can see me, but our neighbors were in their backyard.  I felt a little awkward taking a pic where they could completely see what was going on.  So, I had to sneak to the side of the house to take these lovely pictures:)
Poser!
I bought the jeans from Express $69, Pink Sparkly Top from Maurices $29, blazer from Maurice $49 and the boots from Famous Footwear and I believe they were $59.  Overall, it was a little on the pricier side especially with the jeans and blazer, BUT I can wear the jeans pretty much with anything AND they look good on me!!
On the way to supper:)
